Wiffle field discovered in Northfield

A recent scouting trip to the other side of the Greens has uncovered a gem of a field in Northfield, VT.

An attempt at contact was made with the owners, who apparently take their Wiffle seriously.

Lowball nation will be glad to know that there are other people out there who take their ridiculousness as seriously as we do. (Well, maybe not quite so seriously, but seriously enough to put a Citgo sign and a coke bottle out in center field.)

We can only hope that these folks contact us and would like to do an exchange program.

Did you leave a note? Perhaps LowPress reporters should have business cards.

It looks like there is a varied height fence, I assume that is the "Green Monster" portion of their field.

Any estimates on the length of the fences?

I did leave a note. I actually talked to a kid who lived at the house. He looked to be about 16 and not at all interested in talking to me. I gave him a piece of paper with our web address and told him to contact us if they wanted to play sometime.

I'll be honest with you. The mound looked as if it hadn't been used all season. I'll bet the fences are around 100 -110, and the monster in left must be tough to clear unless the wind is blowing out.

As far as the location, it is on the Northfield side of the Northfield Country Club, but for all I know the Northfield Country Club might be in Roxbury.

Are we certain this isn't a hoax? Looks like it could be the lay of the land near the GapBridge tilled by the idle hands of a bachelored Commissioner. Look, there's even the slightest breeze in the flag just like the Apollo moon landing...

Judging by the haze and color of the grass I would place it farther east than Lincoln, though I think it may technically be in Roxbury
