An Updated LowBall Scorecard
Submitted by Hot Rod Beck on August 6, 2007 - 9:11pmI have revised the scorecard to help upload the season stats. Currently these stats are kept in an online spreadsheet. It is still a very manual process. I am hoping to smooth it a bit to make it easier for others. Until then, I have no problems taking care of the input. Attached is the updated scorecard. Remember that pitcher stats require manual input.

After the carnage of Sunday, I think everyone was ready to get back to business and clean up the pitching a bit. Shoeless Jonboy Howard "Wingman" Howell, fresh off garnering a league leading number of nicknames, displayed his lack of experience pulling a true rookie move. He showed up at the field, yet left to "change". He was not to be seen again. In some leagues, that sort of stunt would draw a one game suspension.
With two rookies in attendance (Steve "No Nickname Yet" Atocha and Aaron "Special K"), the game got underway on a freshly groomed Twin Oaks pitch. The home team jumped out early on Lon Ichiro and continued to lead through-out the game. Hot Rod, The Unit, and El Guapo all dominated the mound giving up a respective 0, 1, and 1 runs. Newcomers No Nickname Yet and Special K both got off to rocky starts but were able to clean it up in their second innings on the mound.
The story of the game was the offensive ripsnorter that player of the game, J-Mac, went on. In his quest to hit for the cycle, he went 8 for 12 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, a ding, and 9 RBIs. WOW. His performance powered the home team to a 16-10 victory in a full 9 innings of play.
Matt "The Unit" Brown walked away with the win after he struck out 3 straight to end the game giving him a very impressive stat line of 1 hit, 1 run, and 7 total K's.
El Guapo continues to slug away while Ox drinks Pina Coladas and suns himself in Michigan. Guapo now leads the league with 5 homers and 24 RBIs. He also managed a juggling catch to rob the Unit of a potential homerun.
Not many photos tonight, but we do have our first video (lame as it may be). Remember to Vote in the Allstar Balloting above before next Sunday. Good game all, well balanced, I look forward to a "Belgian Wiffle" this coming Sunday.

Steve "No Nickname Yet" Atocha steps in against the losing team's player of the game, Lon Ichiro. Lon Ichiro continued batting dominance going 8 for 17 with two trips and two doubles. Newcomer Special K can be seen in the outfield. He earned a quick nickname for driving the official car of LowBall, the Dodge K car. I may need to borrow that car next year around Field Days timeframe for the demolition derby.

Lon Ichiro shows yet another delivery. Steve is currently in the cellar for total nicknames, but as we have seen with the Wingman that can turn around in a hurry.
